Four Perfect Recipes for Grilling on July 4th!

We cannot wait to celebrate our nation’s birthday. We’re not thrilled about the heat wave that so much of the country is being gripped by. But we are hopeful that Friday cools off enough that we can all enjoy being outside!

Even if it is still hot, grilling is a great way to keep heat out of your kitchen! We love grilling at this time of year for helping us eat warm dinners without getting an even hotter home. That’s why we are sharing four main courses that are low in carbs and would be excellent at your July 4th celebration!

Smoked Brisket

We know that everyone is working with different kitchen equipment. If you have a smoker, this brisket recipe would be incredible for a get-together on Independence Day. For a lot of the year, many of us think eight hours is too long of a commitment to be cooking beef. But celebrating the U.S. is a great excuse to smoke beef for hours and enjoy the delicious, tender meat! A serving has 252 calories, two grams of carbs, one gram of fiber and 11 grams of fat. Spicy Grilled Shrimp

A simple paste of lemon and cayenne pepper gives these shrimp a big kick of flavor. This recipe is easy, and the shrimp cook quickly on the barbecue, making space for other things you need to cook. They are guaranteed to be a hit! Some folks coat the shrimp in the marinade and throw them onto the grill immediately. Others let them marinate for up to 40 minutes. We wouldn’t marinate for more than 40 minutes maximum as the lemon juice in the marinade can start to cook seafood. A serving has 164 calories, three grams of carbs, one gram of fiber and six grams of fat. Get the recipe.

Grilled Chicken with Balsamic Vinegar

We all have our grilled chicken fallback recipe. For some folks, it’s just barbecue sauce. Others do a mustard sauce. Maybe you do a lemon pepper marinade. Whatever the case, it’s important to get out of your comfort zone. We love this balsamic vinegar-based marinade. Keep in mind that this dish does need some planning as your chicken should marinate for four to six hours for the most flavor. A serving has 291 calories, four grams of carbs, one gram of fiber and 11 grams of fat. Get the recipe.

Grilled Chipotle Lime Cauliflower Steaks

For vegetarians, the grill can sometimes be a boring spot. But not this grilling season! These delicious cauliflower steaks get a smokiness from the grill and spice blend. Cauliflower steaks are thick planks of cauliflower that can hold a sauce and stand up to the heat of a grill. You will be thrilled you made these, even if you are a meat eater. They are an excellent, tasty way to eat more fiber. A serving has 172 calories, 19.4 grams of carbs, 7.5 grams of fiber and 10.3 grams of fat. Get the recipe.

We hope everyone has a wonderful time celebrating July 4th!
