September often feels like one of the harder months to stay motivated. When you’re a youth, it’s easier. September marks the beginning of the school year. If you’re in school or have school-aged kids, it can be an excellent marker to help you gauge improvement and stay on course.
But if you don’t have school in your life, September is when the cooler, darker days of the year start, and things feel like they start to slow down. We want to remind you that you can reach your goals with the right plan and by staying on track. You deserve to be healthy and feel great in your body with a lifestyle plan that works for you! It’s all about finding balance and a system that works. And we know that the right plan is out there for everyone. It’s just about finding a good fit!
There are two main forms of motivation: intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic motivation comes from within and is when you want to reach your goal just for the satisfaction of completing it. Extrinsic motivation is when you have external factors like praise or recognition.
Recognizing what motivates you can help you train yourself to take action. If you know what drives you to succeed, you can change your plan, making it so your goal will have a reward that makes you happiest based on what motivates you. That can help you keep up your momentum.
There are three steps to achieving a goal: starting, sticking to the plan and working hard. No matter what your goal is — for anything from a health aspiration to a financial plan to completing a DIY project — those will be the same steps. Staying motivated is the key to making your dream happen. It all starts with a plan and taking the first step.
