But, for those of us with concerns about our blood sugar, the holidays can be a time of worry, feeling left out or like we're disappointing people by not joining in. Let’s face it, when we head to the buffet at a party, many of us instantly gravitate toward the chips and dip, but both can be filled with hidden sugar. Today, we are featuring dips and things to dip in there for you to bring to the Halloween party or share with your family as trick-or-treaters.

Monster Claws

These long, thin chicken fingers look great on a plate and are perfect for dipping! With a cheesy-coconut coating, the “breading” on these is gluten-free. The jalapenos not only look like a monster’s fingernail but also add a pop of flavor. A serving of monster claws has 384 calories, six grams of carbs and three grams of fiber. Get the recipe.

Creamy Avocado Lime Dressing – Keto Dip or Spread

Susie T. Gibbs, who posted the monster claw recipe suggested dipping them in ranch. We disagree. This thick avocado dressing/dip/spread is a perfect match for the flavors. And, it’s green color will fit right in on a spooky Halloween food table where green, orange and black are the colors of the season. A two-tablespoon serving is 123 calories, four grams of carbs and 2.6 grams of fiber. Get the recipe.

Pumpkin Rosemary Biscuits

These biscuits use everyone’s favorite ingredient of the season: pumpkin. We like them served warm. Technically, these are more suited to being smeared with something rather than dipped, but they are too good not to include on our savory list! A biscuit has 107 calories, 6.02 grams of carbs and three grams of fiber. Get the recipe.

Jack O’Lantern Dip

What goes well on biscuits? Some people say butter, but we think cream cheese knocks butter out of the top spot. This dip couldn’t be more straightforward: cream cheese, shredded cheese and olives. Once it’s shaped and the cheese is melted under the broiler, it can be a fun and functional centerpiece for a holiday display—just don’t be surprised when your pumpkin disappears fast. Cheesy Grain-Free Spinach Crackers

At first glance, these are a very grown-up cracker, but if you want kids to eat them, use a cookie cutter and blame the color on the holiday instead of the spinach. They can be made with fresh or frozen spinach. With chili pepper, cumin and parmesan in the mix, they are flavorful on their own! Wormy Dip

It’s the plating more than anything that makes this creamy dip fit for Halloween. The great thing is that this delicious shrimp dip is excellent for a crowd. In an orange bell pepper, with shrimp “worms” crawling out, this tasty dip looks like it’s sitting inside of a creepy pumpkin. A two-tablespoon serving has 72 calories and .6 net carbs.
