Four Mocktails Perfect for January

Lots of people start off the year with a dry month. Maybe it’s a yearly tradition for you. Maybe you never drink. Or, maybe you’ve been seeing all the recent studies about alcohol, and you’re looking to cut back or remove it from your life. If any of those situations apply to you, you’re in luck! We love sharing mocktail recipes.

We don’t condemn drinking alcohol. But we are against carbs. And we want to be sure everyone can enjoy themselves. That’s why we like to share non-alcoholic, low-carb beverages!

Healing 3-ingredient Turmeric Tonic

This is an interesting drink because we have seen it on different sites as a mocktail, natural medicine, and as a bedtime treat. We would consider it a simple mocktail. Its ingredients have health benefits. But it is a delicious drink, not a miracle cure. It’s the only hot drink on our list, so if you want a warm drink, this is the one for you! A serving has 13 calories, 1.8 grams of carbs and 0.4 grams of fiber. Get the recipe.

Sparkling Blueberry Ginger Mocktail

This fruity, muddled drink is a take on a less-sweet mojito. It’s got bright flavors that are refreshing and light. It’s excellent that it uses frozen blueberries for several reasons. They are cheaper in the stores at this time of the year. The blueberries in the produce department aren’t very good. And they act as ice cubes! This is a real celebration drink that makes you feel like you’re having fun the minute you take a sip. A serving has 25 calories, eight grams of carbs, two grams of fiber and 0.2 grams of fat. Pomegranate Mojito Mocktails

We love pomegranate drinks in the winter. As the pomegranate symbolizes rebirth, it’s perfect for the new year! And they are in season! While this recipe calls for non-alcoholic rum, it’s optional, so its inclusion is up to you. As ginger lovers, we are fans of the version they suggest of leaving out the non-alcoholic rum but using diet ginger ale instead of soda water. As written, a serving has 37 calories, nine grams of carbs, one gram of fiber and one gram of fat. Get the recipe.

Fizzy Rosemary Cider Mocktail

So many mocktails rely on sugar to make up for the absence of alcohol to make a drink interesting. This one instead uses a sugar-free rosemary simple syrup to bring a deep flavor. This is a “grownup” drink because it has a complex flavor most kids won’t enjoy, but it’s wonderful if you like fruity-but-not-sweet cocktails. A serving has 64 calories, 16 grams of carbs and one gram of fiber. Get the recipe.

We hope that these drinks help you wet your whistle! The new year is just getting started.
