In honor of the first day of National Park Week, national parks all over the country will be open free of charge for visitors this Saturday, April 20!
The Presidentially proclaimed National Parks Week is celebrated each year during April. This year the event will be happening from April 20 through April 28. Entrance fees are being waived on Saturday. However, there are still fees for activities like camping, tours, boat launches or transportation. Each day of the week will have a theme, celebrating children, veterans, pets and more. Additionally, check out the parks on Earth Day on Monday, April 22!
The National Park Service and National Park Foundation are excited to invite more people to visit. They even shared a funny video on YouTube looking at some reasons folks should step out of their everyday lives and into the parks!
